ISE takes part into the POR FESR 2014-2020 of Tuscany Region within the I-READ 4.0 R&D Project
The proposed system will be optimized for warehouses larger than 10000 sqm. with an average goods handling of more than 1000 pallets/day. Such warehouse scenarios require technological solutions that are reconfigurable, low-cost, flexible, as well as easily scalable with respect to warehouse size, goods variety and required spatial resolution for the pallet localization..The five industrial partners involved in this project are:- Sofidel SpA- I.S.E. ingegneria dei sistemi elettronici Srl- 3logic MK Srl- A.M.E. Srl- CAEN RFID SrlThe Department of Information Engineering (DII) and the Department of Civil and Industrial Engineering (DIC) of University of Pisa are involved in support of basic research activities. Operation requirements of the project will be satisfied by adopting an integrated approach based on extensive use of RFID technology at UHF band and ultra wide band high accuracy indoor/outdoor location systems.

ISE will be among the exhibitors of the Innotrans International trade fair and exhibition in Berlin (18-21 september 2018)
InnoTrans is the leading international trade fair for advanced transport technology. Railway products from all over the world and a full range of rail vehicles are presented in exhibition halls and outdoor display tracks on the Messe Berlin exhibition ground. This year more than 3.000 Exhibitors and 150.000 Visitors are expected to animate the event, which will take place from 18 to 21 September 2018. ISE wil supply the fire protection system for new Turkish EMU trains produced by Tüvasaş
Tüvasaş will build three cars initially, with five cars each. After this first batch, production of more than 100 trains with between three and six cars per train will start. The first train is due to be completed by the end of 2019. Eventually, Tüvasaş hopes to produce in excess of 400 cars for TCDD, and export the trains as they are designed to fully meet the European Union Technical Standards for Interoperability (TSI).
These vehicles will be the first aluminium-bodied trains to be produced by Tüvasaş, and a new building will be completed for this project at Tüvasaş’ existing site at Sakarya to manufacture the trains.
The trains, which are intended for inter-city services, will have a maximum speed of 160km/h and will have one motor and one trailer bogie per car. A five-car set will have one first-class coach, four second-class coaches with a buffet counter, and a total of 322 seats. There will be two seats for disabled passengers and a toilet for their use.
The high-end characteristics of the fire protection system supplied by ISE, fully compliant to the most advanced fire codes for rolling stock fire protection, were one of the key features for the assignment of this important contract.
